Thus Spoke Zarathustra Gosling

The Nietzsche Super Gosling
climbs onto the rocks
out of the pond
she picks up a pen
and charts her ideas
for the long term survival of her species
given the looming threat of a new ice age
meteor strike or atomic annihilation.
THUS SPOKE ZARATHUSTRA GOSLING
Uber Grunshnabel
(The Uber Whippersnapper).

April Opens

I plant Ghost Thistles
in the garden
the week the compulsory
redundancys are announced.
The dog barks at something I can’t see
and the first fly of spring lands on
my snoring wife’s leg
as she sleeps in the garden.
At that moment my neighbours house alarm
goes off
and I know he’s not at home.

Narcissus Americano

The reflection in my Americano
shows the large chandelier on the café ceiling
which now looks like a spider
that has lampshades on its feet
in my coffee.
This observation reminds me of the
Tibetan myth of The Monkey and the Moon
Or even the myth of Narcissus.
But I will not form a chain from the ceiling with my fellow monkeys
to fish out the spider like in the Tibetan myth
or gaze longingly at my reflection like Narcissus
until I grow old
no
drink your drink
and move on
never look back
for monkeys, spiders or cool reflections.
